Enjoy a wealth of choice – from malls to markets

For shoppers, Oxford has everything from modern malls to charming back streets lined with quirky independent stores, specialist food emporia and designer boutiques. Furnishing your beautiful new home with items of quality and style will not pose a challenge, particularly with the impending arrival of a flagship John Lewis store in the heart of the city. Centrally located is Westgate Oxford, featuring over 40 shops, including many well-known high street names. There are also many interesting shops to be found in other areas of the city, including Headington and Summertown.

For a unique shopping experience, there's the excellent Covered Market in the city centre. There's been a market on this site since 1774 and it's still as lively and colourful as ever, with a stunning array of things to buy, from retro fashions to fresh food and produce, as well as several warm, cosy cafes where you can take a refreshing break.

For great deals on designer clothes and accessories, take a short drive (around 20 minutes) to Bicester Village. This internationally renowned designer outlet centre is home to over 130 boutiques selling a wide range of luxury brands, including Dior, Gucci, Chanel and Alexander McQueen.
