Masterplan
The site masterplan was created following extensive public and stakeholder consultation, including the Barton House Builder Forum, which pre-qualified 12 potential house builders. The full development site extends to approximately 36 hectares (90 acres) and lies to the north east of Oxford, next to the A40.
The masterplan shows areas of different character across the site, ranging from 'Green Edge' to 'General Urban', linked by a common theme of high-quality design.
The plan also provides for focal points of activity, including a retail area (possibly with an adjacent hotel) and a community hub, comprising a primary school, community facilities, a sports pavilion and recreation land. A linear park runs along the northern edge of the site and there are allotments to the south east.
The first phase of land was launched to the market by Barton Oxford LLP, a joint venture between Oxford City Council and Grosvenor Developments and we are pleased to confirm the successful house builder is Hill who will deliver 237 new homes of which 95 will be affordable. They are now on site preparing their compound which is a significant milestone for Barton Park. Please read the full press release here.
